Straight answers

Props we don't print

Most costume pieces are a great fit, but we don't print:

  • Characters, armor, or props from Marvel, DC, Disney, Pokémon, Nintendo, or similar brands, unless you have the rights holder's permission
  • Realistic replica firearms, or parts for real weapons
  • Helmets or armor meant to protect you. Costume pieces aren't safety gear.

Cosplay FAQ

Questions about cosplay and props

Can you print a helmet or armor from my favorite movie or game?
Only if you have permission from whoever owns that character or design. Fan-made models of copyrighted characters still count. See our copyrighted designs policy. Original designs, generic fantasy and sci-fi pieces, and your own creations are all fair game.
Do you sand and paint the pieces?
No. We print the parts and remove the supports, and the sanding, gluing, and painting are up to you. PLA sands, primes, and paints well, which makes it a great material for props.
How big can you print?
Basic prints go up to 6 inches in one piece. Advanced prints go up to 9.5 inches and can be printed in multiple pieces you assemble, which is how helmets and armor are usually done. Projects with lots of pieces may cost more. See pricing.
What files work best?
STL or 3MF files that are already split into printable sections. Many prop designers include split versions with their files.
How long does a cosplay print take?
Big helmets and armor sets take longer, since they're printed in many pieces. Put your event date in the quote form, and your quote will include a ready date.
